Osogbo witnessed an impressive turnout as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) wrapped up its Federal Constituency Tour across Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu. Residents from different walks of life—artisans, traders, market leaders, youths, and students—filled the streets, showing overwhelming support for the party and its National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who led the delegation.

From the Ataoja’s palace to the Technical College where people patiently waited for hours, the enthusiasm was unmistakable.
Addressing the huge gathering, Aregbesola expressed deep gratitude for the consistent loyalty Osogbo residents have shown him and his political movement over the years.
He urged Nigerians to unite and use their votes to bring meaningful change, saying the ADC offers a credible alternative to the country’s ongoing challenges—including insecurity, poor governance, hunger, and economic hardship.
Aregbesola said:
“Our people everywhere in Osun understand what we stand for. The projects and reforms we delivered during our time continue to speak for us. That’s why we receive this kind of warmth anytime we return, especially in Osogbo, the state capital.
“The ruling parties have failed in critical sectors—security, economy, welfare of citizens and more. The ADC is the path to liberation and better living for our people. We are encouraged that many have resolved to vote out incompetence and embrace real development.”
He encouraged supporters to continue mobilizing others and participate actively in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), assuring them that the ADC is ready to provide purposeful leadership.
Earlier, at his palace, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, warmly received the former Minister and his team. The monarch pledged his support for the ADC’s mission, recalling the significant transformation Osogbo experienced during Aregbesola’s tenure as governor between 2010 and 2018.
He emphasized:
“Aregbesola’s journey this time is unique because he has come with a renewed commitment to uplift the people of Osun. I hold him in high regard. When some people pushed him to dethrone me, he refused. We in Osogbo are not ungrateful. We stand together, especially in politics. I will always support him and what he stands for.”
The event also became a rallying point as senior party leaders—Dr. Charles Omidiji, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji, Senator Felix Ogunwale, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, Dr. Najeem Salaam and others—urged members to intensify grassroots efforts. They described the ADC as the only party with both the moral compass and capacity to rescue Osun and Nigeria from current national setbacks.
Other notable figures in attendance included Engr. Jide Adeniji, Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile, Revd. Adelowo Adebiyi, Senator Adelere Oriolowo, Mr. Jide Bewaji, and several party stalwarts.
