Anambra South Unites Behind Soludo and Ibezim for Re-Election, Endorses Nwachukwu for Senate

In a powerful display of unity and confidence, leaders and residents of Anambra South Senatorial District have unanimously endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, as their consensus candidates for the November 8, 2025 governorship election.
The endorsement came during a vibrant gathering at Ekwulobia Township Stadium, where delegates from all seven local government areas in the district came together to rally support for the governor’s second-term bid. At the same event, Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu was formally presented as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the August 16 senatorial bye-election.
Governor Soludo, visibly moved by the show of support, thanked the people for their overwhelming confidence—even before the official launch of his campaign. He also backed Chief Nwachukwu’s candidacy, highlighting the importance of electing a senator who will align with his administration’s development goals and work collaboratively at both the state and national levels.
Receiving the APGA party flag from the party’s national and state chairmen, Chief Nwachukwu pledged to campaign based on Governor Soludo’s achievements and promised to further strengthen the foundation already laid.
The event also drew endorsements from key political figures, including Dr. Paschal Agbodike (House of Representatives, Ihiala), Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme (State Assembly Majority Leader), and Chief of Staff Ernest Ezeajughi. Others present included trade union leaders and local government officials, who all praised Governor Soludo’s impact over the past three years and voiced their excitement for what another term could bring.
To crown the occasion, traditional rulers in the zone honored Governor Soludo with the prestigious chieftaincy title of “Oluatuegwu”, a symbolic gesture affirming his leadership and strong connection to the grassroots as the 2025 elections draw near.
