The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a significant success in its ongoing crackdown on kidnapping and other violent crimes with the arrest of eight suspected kidnappers during a coordinated security operation in Rukubi Community, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The operation was launched following a distress call received in the early hours of May 7, 2026, reporting an attack by armed hoodlums who invaded the community on the night of May 6. The attackers were said to have fired gunshots indiscriminately, throwing residents into fear and confusion.
According to reports, the gunmen forcefully entered the homes of two residents during the attack and abducted two victims, taking them to an unknown location.

Following the report, operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command, working alongside other security agencies and local youths in the community, quickly moved into the area and carried out a coordinated operation that resulted in the arrest of eight suspects believed to be connected to the attack.
The suspects were identified as Adamu Alfa, Muhammed Alfa, Shuaibu Alfa, Usman Alfa, Ali Alfa, Isa Alfa, Adamu Alfa, and Ja’afaru Alfa, all residents of Rugan Alhaji Alfa in Rukubi Village.
During the operation, security personnel recovered two AK-47 rifles, four Bajaj motorcycles, and two expended 7.62mm ammunition shells linked to the incident.
Police authorities also disclosed that one of the suspects sustained serious injuries during the operation and later died while receiving treatment at a medical facility.
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, praised the courage and professionalism of the operatives involved. He described the successful operation as clear evidence of the impact of intelligence-driven policing and strong collaboration among security agencies in tackling violent crimes. He also expressed appreciation to sister security agencies, local vigilante groups, community youths, and residents whose support and cooperation played a vital role in the success of the mission.
