In a strategic move to strengthen Lagos State’s security framework, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan as the new Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

The appointment, effective Friday, October 31, 2025, will see Dr. Ogunsan serve a five-year term leading one of the state’s most critical institutions dedicated to public safety and security. A respected administrator, entrepreneur, and security strategist, Dr. Ogunsan brings decades of experience and an innovative vision to his new role — one centered on mobilizing resources, deepening partnerships, and advancing the state’s security agenda.
The LSSTF remains a cornerstone of Lagos State’s development strategy, driving public-private collaboration to strengthen policing and modernize security infrastructure. Under Dr. Ogunsan’s leadership, the Fund is expected to expand its reach, integrate more technology-driven solutions, and align closely with the Governor’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda to ensure a safer Lagos for all.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his deep appreciation to the outgoing Executive Secretary, Hon. Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, for a decade of outstanding service and visionary leadership that laid a strong foundation for the Fund’s success. The Governor commended Dr. Balogun’s tireless commitment to building trust between the government and private sector in securing Lagos.
The appointment has since drawn widespread praise. Dr. Joshua Oyeniyi, Convener of The Ambassadors Summit Platform under the Joshua Oyeniyi International Foundation, congratulated Dr. Ogunsan, describing the appointment as “a well-deserved milestone and a huge win for Lagos.”
