At a high-level meeting in Akure, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa received a delegation led by Globacom’s Group Lead for Enterprise Business, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, who assured that the collaboration will drive greater efficiency and productivity across key sectors.

As part of the plan, Globacom will deploy a Learning Management System (LMS) for secondary and tertiary institutions, supported by Glo Share, a sponsored data service that gives students free access to the platform without internet charges. This zero-rated service will also be extended to the state’s digital payment system, allowing residents to conveniently pay taxes and levies online at no extra data cost.

The partnership also covers security solutions, including facial recognition systems, traffic management tools, and vehicle-tracking services to curb car theft and misuse of government vehicles. In addition, state workers will benefit from free-access closed-user group lines to improve communication across ministries, departments, and agencies.

Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed the collaboration, describing Globacom’s proposals as timely and aligned with his administration’s vision of a technology-driven government. He highlighted ongoing efforts such as the recently launched iOndo electronic tax platform, which has already simplified online payment for ground rents and other taxes.

“Adopting Globacom’s digital solutions will help us cut bureaucracy, improve efficiency, and minimize human interference in government processes,” the Governor said. He also praised the company’s trailblazing role in Nigeria’s telecoms industry, recalling innovations such as per-second billing and affordable SIM cards that democratized mobile access.

The Governor expressed confidence that this partnership will accelerate digital transformation and drive socio-economic growth in Ondo State.
