Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR, has officially confirmed Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU).

Her appointment letter was formally handed over by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, during a ceremony at the Light House in Awka.

According to the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the decision follows Professor Omenugha’s outstanding performance as Acting Vice Chancellor—a tenure marked by bold reforms, improved academic standards, and visionary leadership that set the university on a stronger path.

The confirmation came after a competitive and merit-driven selection process, reflecting the Governor’s commitment to placing capable leaders at the helm of the state’s higher institutions.
