With a wealth of expertise in youth development, football administration, and sports management, the Asisat Oshoala Academy (AOA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Lanre Vigo as its new director. The Asisat Oshoala Academy, founded by six-time African Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala MON and sponsored by Nike, is dedicated to developing future female football players by offering top-notch instruction, training, and career opportunities in football and other sports.

By providing them with the technical know-how, self-control, and guidance they need to thrive both on and off the pitch, the Academy hopes to establish a long-lasting pipeline for the next generation of female football players. Significant accomplishments were made by the academy in 2024, as its players were called up to the national team, received scholarships, and participated in prestigious competitions.
Building on this momentum, the academy’s 2025 goals include enhancing its competitive framework, growing its talent development programs, and giving its athletes more worldwide exposure.
The hiring of Mr. Vigo is a crucial step towards accomplishing these objectives. An accomplished football executive, Mr. Vigo co-founded Plug Sports, a premier sports management company that has been instrumental in developing and overseeing elite players.
In addition, he is the creator of Inter Lagos FC, a professional football team that was established in 2023 and plays in the Nigerian National League (NNL). The team established a solid foundation and a dedication to greatness by making the playoffs in its first season. He is the perfect leader to advance the Academy’s goals because of his proficiency in football administration, player management, and talent scouting.
