Moroccan international footballer Achraf Hakimi is set to face trial in France over a rape allegation he has firmly denied.

The Paris Saint-Germain defender addressed the accusation in a post shared on X on Tuesday, maintaining that he is innocent.
“Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial, even though I deny it and everything proves it’s false,” Hakimi wrote. “This is as unjust to the innocent as it is to genuine victims. I calmly await this trial, which will allow the truth to come out publicly.”
The investigation began in 2023 after a complaint was filed with prosecutors in Nanterre, France. Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the case, and the prosecutor’s office has yet to issue further comment.
Hakimi, who also represents Morocco at international level, has continued his professional career as legal proceedings progress.
