The leadership team, which includes Group Managing Director/CEO Roosevelt Ogbonna and Acting GCEO Ms. Bolaji Agbede, recently held a media roundtable to discuss the company’s strategic priorities for the upcoming years.

“We have a well-established commitment to promoting economic growth in Africa,” Agbede stated. “We think we can generate long-term economic value and bring about significant change throughout the continent by assisting small businesses.” Ogbonna listed the strategic priorities for 2023–2027, including small business empowerment, retail banking, and infrastructure improvements.

“Our goal is to create an environment that makes it easier for small businesses to reach new markets across the continent,” he said.

In order to promote intra-African trade and link small businesses, Access Bank will hold a trade conference in November. Despite difficult economic conditions, the bank has demonstrated its commitment to infrastructure investment by opening 61 new branches in Nigeria this year alone.

“This expansion demonstrates our commitment to improving customer access to financial services and retail banking,” Ogbonna continued. Additionally, the bank is working to create entirely digitalized branches, dubbed “branches of the future,” which will use cutting-edge technology to provide financial access for marginalized areas.

Enhancing regional trade dynamics is another area of interest for Access Holdings. Through encouraging small business partnerships and collaborations, the company hopes to build a strong network that promotes economic growth throughout Africa.

Ogbonna emphasized, “We are dedicated to creating a sustainable ecosystem that empowers companies and spurs growth.” Access Holdings is committed to its goal of generating sustainable economic value for Africa and enabling companies capable of bringing about significant change, even as it grows its presence throughout the continent.
