The commissioning ceremony took place at the new facility in the rapidly developing Opic corridor and drew a wide range of guests, including senior government officials, traditional rulers, industry players, business partners, board members, staff, and community representatives, all present to witness the launch of one of the area’s most advanced fueling and service hubs.
Built to offer more than just fuel, the Opic Mega Station features multiple dispensing bays to reduce waiting time, a fully stocked convenience store, modern restroom facilities, and several customer-friendly amenities. The spacious forecourt was also designed with safety and heavy traffic flow in mind.
Speaking at the event, Fatgbems Group Managing Director, Dr. Kabir Gbemisola, described the new station as a clear reflection of the company’s long-term vision and dedication to service excellence.
He said the project goes beyond opening another retail outlet, noting that it represents the company’s ongoing promise to deliver quality, reliability, and a better overall customer experience. According to him, the investment also shows strong confidence in Nigeria’s economic growth and the need for infrastructure that supports transportation, business activities, and community development.
Representing the Ogun State Government, Deputy Governor Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele praised the company for contributing to the state’s economy through private sector investment and job creation. She noted that the project aligns with Ogun State’s goal of strengthening its position as a leading industrial and commercial center, while encouraging more responsible businesses to invest in the state.
In his goodwill message, the Alake of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Michael Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo III, welcomed the development, saying it brings modern infrastructure and essential services closer to the people. He added that beyond fuel supply, the station will stimulate local economic activity and create employment opportunities for young people in the area.
The new mega station is expected to boost commercial activities in the surrounding communities, create both direct and indirect jobs, and improve access to reliable fueling services for residents and commuters.
Fatgbems Group also emphasized that the facility was built to meet strict safety and environmental standards. It is equipped with up-to-date safety systems and operated by well-trained staff to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.
Guests at the event commended the company for its continued infrastructure investments and for introducing a world-class fueling experience along the busy Lagos–Ibadan corridor.
With the launch of the Opic Mega Station, Fatgbems Group further strengthens its footprint in Nigeria’s downstream energy sector while raising the bar for convenience, reliability, and service quality.
