President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice.
He expressed gratitude to Almighty God for granting Nigerians the opportunity to witness another Eid celebration, describing the season as a time for reflection on the virtues of faith, obedience, sacrifice, and compassion as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.
According to the President, Eid-el-Kabir serves as a reminder for Nigerians to embrace selflessness, unity, and care for one another, irrespective of ethnic, religious, or social differences. He noted that Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, remains one of the greatest examples of devotion and submission to God.
Tinubu said Nigeria is currently on a path of rebuilding and renewal, stressing that the reforms introduced by his administration, though difficult, are necessary for creating a more stable and prosperous future for generations to come.
He added that the sacrifices made by Nigerians over the past three years are beginning to produce positive results, citing improvements in economic stability and growing investor confidence that could boost job creation and national growth.
“The difficult phase is gradually giving way to hope and progress,” he stated, expressing confidence that ongoing reforms would continue to improve security and expand opportunities for citizens.
The President also acknowledged the continued attacks by terrorists and bandits in some parts of the country despite efforts by security agencies, including the reported elimination of a wanted ISIS leader. He assured affected communities that the government remains committed to defeating criminal elements and restoring lasting peace nationwide.
Tinubu urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria, peace in communities, and wisdom for leaders at all levels. He also encouraged citizens to support the less privileged, share with neighbours, and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and national unity.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to national development, the President said the government would continue investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development to improve the lives of Nigerians.
He wished Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that Allah accepts their sacrifices and continues to bless the nation.
