In line with his commitment to community-led development, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned a newly completed 5-kilometre road in Ezinifite, Aguata Local Government Area. The road was constructed by Chief Anthony Obele, a private citizen and proud son of the community, under the Public-Private-Community Partnership (PPCP) model championed by the Soludo administration. The project stands as a strong example of how collaboration can accelerate development and improve lives.
What makes the project even more remarkable is its location—within the governor’s own community—giving the commissioning a deeply personal touch. Stretching across key parts of Ezinifite, the newly paved road is expected to ease movement, improve access for businesses, and significantly enhance daily life for residents who depend on these routes.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, said Governor Soludo praised Chief Obele for his selfless commitment to community development. The governor described the road as a shining model of sustainable progress—one that proves development does not have to wait on government alone. He stressed that partnerships combining private initiative, government support, and community involvement are critical to speeding up infrastructure growth across Anambra State.
Reflecting on the bigger picture, Governor Soludo noted that government cannot singlehandedly deliver development at the pace the state requires. He acknowledged the achievements of Anambra indigenes across the world and called on them to give back to their roots. According to him, true and lasting progress comes when everyone takes responsibility for the development of their homeland.
The governor also reaffirmed his support for such initiatives, encouraging citizens to reach out whenever they complete community projects so the government can identify and celebrate them. He emphasized that leadership is defined by service, adding that even small contributions—like paving just a few meters of road—can have meaningful impact when done in the public interest.
