The Mission Africa Organization once again shone a light on African excellence at the World Wide Mission Recognition Awards (WWMRA), held on November 1, 2025, at the Southern Sun Hotel, Sandton. The prestigious event brought together leaders and changemakers whose work continues to shape progress and unity across the continent.

Among the distinguished honorees was MP Imraan Moosa, a proud son of Lenasia and a lifelong advocate for his community. A respected resident for more than five decades, Moosa’s journey began in the late 1970s when he served as Chairman of the Student Representative Council (SRC) during a defining era of South Africa’s struggle. Beyond politics, he has built a remarkable legacy in business development, real estate, and youth empowerment, notably through his work with Al Jama-ah.
Driven by a lifelong passion for social upliftment, Moosa remains dedicated to mentoring young people and inspiring them to achieve greatness. His four consecutive electoral victories in Lenasia stand as a testament to his integrity, leadership, and unwavering service to the people.
Also recognized at the event was Excellence Igwubor, Founder and CEO of the Excell International Beauty Academy (EIBA), established in 2010. Through her internationally accredited beauty schools in Randburg, Pretoria CBD, and Ga-Rankuwa, Igwubor has empowered thousands of women and low-income earners with the skills to build successful, independent careers. Her work reflects the transformative power of education and economic inclusion.
The evening also celebrated veteran actor Luthuli Dlamini, whose outstanding contributions to South African television and film have inspired audiences for decades. Best known for his role as Stan Nyathi, Dlamini’s performances in Generations, InterSEXions, Rockville, and Uzalo have cemented his place among the nation’s most admired and versatile talents.
Speaking at the ceremony, Adasonla, a representative of Mission Africa, highlighted the organization’s driving vision:
“Mission Africa was founded to create a platform for innovative and developmental projects that address Africa’s challenges. Our goal is to connect forward-thinking Africans—both at home and in the diaspora—to harness the intellectual and economic strength of our people.”
Through its ongoing programs—ranging from youth empowerment and entrepreneurship training to business development initiatives, skills acquisition projects, professional networking, and free preventive healthcare—Mission Africa continues to invest in the continent’s future.
By recognizing visionary leaders, creatives, and community builders, the WWMRA Awards reaffirm Mission Africa’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of African excellence—rooted in unity, innovation, and pride in the motherland.
