Oxygen X, one of Nigeria’s leading digital lending companies, has extended its impact beyond finance by taking a bold step into environmental sustainability. On September 3, 2025, the Oxygen X team partnered with the JOMO Climate Change Initiative to carry out a major cleanup and advocacy campaign at Ketu Market, Lagos.

The initiative, fully sponsored by Oxygen X, brought together key stakeholders including the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Ketu Market Leader (Baba Oloja). By the end of the exercise, more than 7,000 community members were directly reached through hands-on cleanup activities and awareness sessions. Traders and residents were sensitized on proper waste management practices and encouraged to adopt everyday sustainable habits for a cleaner, healthier environment.
Speaking on the company’s motivation, Dan Watts, Chief Risk Officer at Oxygen X, said:
“At Oxygen X, we believe real change begins with action. This project is not just CSR—it’s who we are as a business with purpose. We are investing in sustainability because thriving communities require a clean, safe planet.”
The cleanup highlights Oxygen X’s broader vision: empowering people and businesses not just to survive but to thrive. By integrating sustainability into its community efforts, Oxygen X is showing that its commitment goes beyond financial empowerment—it’s also about building healthier, more resilient communities for the future.
