The Progressive Institute’s Director General, Lanre Adebayo, PhD, and his final Friday guest, Mr. Abdulazees Adediran, a former PDP candidate for governor of Lagos State, both say that younger Nigerians have hope in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership abilities. The two reaffirm Tinubu’s resolve to hand over Nigeria’s leadership to the following generation.

“I joined the APC to help President Tinubu accomplish this. Both the Lagos politician and Adebayo, an authority on leadership and governance, concurred with the media. During an Adediran visit to the party’s training and think-tank institution, The Progressive Institute (TPI), in Abuja on Friday, the well-known businessman from Abuja, known as “Jandor,” and his host in TPI, offered the praise.
Adediran, who just switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he feels more optimistic about Nigeria after meeting with the president. “Reflecting on my meeting with President Tinubu prior to my defection, where the President explicitly expressed his readiness to ensure a smooth transition of leadership to the next generation” .
“I’m honoured to be a part of this moment of transition,” he remarked. Adediran stressed that Tinubu’s approach for recruiting leaders is essential to the smooth generational transition and asked the APC leadership and members to support the President’s agenda. “The only thing that all of us who are supporting him need to do right now is figure out how we can help him so that he can pass the torch to the next generation with ease.”
Adediran claimed that the APC is still the only stable party in the nation and expressed his happiness at rejoining the ruling party. He said, “If you look at all the political parties in Nigeria today, the only one with a semblance of stability is the APC, so our decision to return to the family is really not that far-fetched.” He praised the National Working Committee (NWC), chaired by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for taking the initiative to create the Progressive Institute.
Giving it the description of a “citadel for leadership recruitment,” Jandor pointed out that the institute’s founding addresses leadership recruiting and the passing of the torch. He maintained that the main issue facing Nigeria right now is not with the way our economy is set up, but rather with our leadership. If anyone is doing it correctly today, it’s the President. You simply don’t want to hold the office of president.
