The Catholic Laity Council of Awka Diocese has given Governor Charles Soludo the Leadership Excellence Award in recognition of his exceptional accomplishments in Anambra State’s transformative drive, infrastructure development, and good governance.

The honour was given to Soludo during a ceremony at Agulu’s St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. The Catholic Laity Council week began with a holy Mass celebrated by His Lordship, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of the Awka Diocese. Hon. Sir Joseph Igwebuike, President of the Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria, Awka Diocese, praised Governor Soludo for this accomplishment and the noteworthy progress in Anambra, saying, “You have no rival.”
We appreciate the wonderful work you are doing and will help you keep it up. In order to assure Soludo of the Awka Catholic Laity’s continuing support, he urged him to keep up his amazing achievement in changing the state and not give up. Governor Soludo’s administration was greatly strengthened by the Catholic Laity Council’s endorsement, which showed its faith in his ability to lead, according to a report sent to the Governor by Ozo Adichie Izuchuckwu, SSA.
Chief Sly Ezeokenwa, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Governor Soludo, and other prominent state figures attended the ceremony.
Due to his reputable leadership, Soludo has also received recognition as the Independent Newspaper’s ‘Governor of the Year 2024’ Award for his urban redevelopment efforts and The Sun Newspaper’s ‘Governor of the Year 2024’ Award for his outstanding accomplishment.
