The knowledgeable banking expert joined a number of recipients who were honoured for their leadership in a variety of economic sectors at a well-attended event that brought together leaders from Nigeria’s governmental and commercial sectors. “This is one of the proudest moments of my life,” Chike-Obi remarked, praising the event organisers for the acknowledgement.
As they commemorate thirty years of influential reporting, I salute the Thisday team, led by the exuberant Prince Nduka Obaigbena, for this award and wish them continued success. Atedo Peterside, the founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank; Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, the founder of Alpine Group; and Maiden Ibru, the chair and publisher of the Guardian Newspaper, were also awarded in the Thisday Awards’ Lifetime Achievers category.
The esteemed award ceremony, which celebrated the 30th anniversary of Thisday Newspapers and the 12th anniversary of Arise News Channel, was held at Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, with the theme “When the Going Gets Tough… The Tough Get Rewarded.”
