The House of Representatives member from Imo State’s Ideato North and South Federal Constituency, Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, has been characterized by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as a “political hushpuppi” who was created by some of the PDP’s aberrations that need to be stopped.

Telling Ugochinyere to “stop going about masturbating about anything Wike,” Olayinka urged him to confront the reason he was elected to the House of Representatives in order to prevent his voters from viewing him as a failure and from routinely voting against him with votes of no confidence.
In an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Friday, Ugochinyere stated that the FCT Minister and other G5 governors, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, former Benue Governor Samuel Ortom, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and Abia Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, were committed to destroying the PDP. “This is one of the things you get when people who joined the PDP today are awarded the party ticket tomorrow morning,” Olayinka said in a statement released in Abuja on Saturday.
Someone who joined the PDP in 2022 wouldn’t be lecturing us about who is and isn’t party faithful if it weren’t for the aberration that gave rise to a figure like Ugochinyere. “Would a ‘political hushpuppi’ like Ugochinyere have received the party’s ticket while still in another party if the PDP had operated correctly? As a member of the PDP Representative, Ugochinyere continues to use his Action Peoples Party (APP) to cash out in Rivers State.
Because we understand why Ugochinyere must now take the floor and accuse Wike of engaging in infantile politics, we on this side are not disturbed. He needs to appease those who are providing for him with Rivers State resources. “In saner climes, such a character would have been arrested, tried, and jailed for impersonation,” Olayinka remarked, making fun of Ugochinyere for always having an organization to speak for in order to carry out his political racket.
“He gave himself the fictitious title of ‘Spokesperson of Opposition Lawmakers Coalition in the 10th National Assembly,’ claiming to have been appointed so by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), when he arrived at the House of Representatives and there was no title under which his political hushpuppism would continue.
However, it is unclear if CUPP is a legitimate political party with representatives in the House of Representatives. When was CUPP registered, and where was it? Is there a spokesperson for opposition MPs in the National Assembly outside the roles of Minority Leader, Deputy Minority Leader, Minority Whip, and Deputy Minority Whip? “Ugochinyere, who has always been a political hustler, knew that assigning himself a position that does not exist would be against the National Assembly’s norms, but he needed a title to keep his hustle going, and it has been booming.
In particular, Ugochinyere has been profiting in Rivers State by posing as the spokesperson for opposition MPs in the House of Representatives. He would use his nebulous opposition lawmakers to cut from inside the Rivers if he isn’t cashing out through his former party, APP.”
