The teenagers claimed that Governor Lawal had directed significant financial resources against undermining Matawalle rather than making investments in the state’s development. Dr. Salisu Kabir, president of ARN, claims that Governor Lawal’s obsession with blackmailing Matawalle is a result of his alleged participation in a presidential initiative that aims to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

According to Kabir, this fixation has resulted in needless spending while ignoring important governmental concerns like healthcare, education, and economic growth. “Governor Dauda Lawal’s flagrant abuse of Zamfara State’s resources to further personal grudges against his predecessor, Bello Matawalle, the current Minister of State for Defense, is strongly condemned by the Arewa Reformers Network,” the statement read. “Governor Lawal has directed significant resources on the goal of undermining Matawalle rather than funding the state’s growth.

Matawalle’s alleged involvement in a presidential project intended to challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027 is the reason behind Governor Lawal’s obsession with discrediting him.

This fixation has resulted in needless spending while ignoring important state issues. We urge Governor Lawal to stop funding demonstrations that further his own goals. “Zamfara State has fallen behind in vital sectors including healthcare, education, and economic development as a result of this misplaced emphasis.

“The governor’s actions serve as a sobering reminder of the necessity of accountability and responsible leadership.” The group called on Governor Lawal to immediately stop funding demonstrations that further his own goals and reroute public funds to more urgent issues. “We call for the governor to immediately stop his witch hunt against Matawalle and concentrate on governance and the open distribution of public funds to address urgent issues like economic development, healthcare, and education,” Kabir continued.

We also call for greater governance through frequent town hall meetings and constituent participation, responsibility for the misappropriated cash, and a thorough examination of the state’s finances. “We implore Governor Lawal to acknowledge the seriousness of his behavior and reorder his priorities appropriately.

Better leadership is something that the people of Zamfara State deserve, and we will keep pushing for accountability and transparency.
