The 2024 Women in Film and TV Conference is set to take place on September 18, 2024, at the Africa Creative Market, Landmark Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. It was recently announced by the Forum of Women in Film and TV in Nigeria (FWIFT Nigeria).

The goal of this event is to bring together the most well-known African women in film and television in order to influence the direction of storytelling, elevate the voices of women, and initiate creative joint projects that will increase the impact and worldwide reach of African stories. honourable Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa (Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy in Nigeria), managing director of Noni Movies Alison Richards, president of the Forum for Women in Film and TV Nigeria Joke Silva, president of Women in Film and Television, Senegal Fatou Jupiter, managing director of Temple Productions and Temple Media Ego Boyo, and Nigerian film director Mildred Okwo are among the esteemed speakers on the program.
The purpose of this conference, according to Nollywood icon, FWIFT President and Founder Joke Silva (MFR), is to “build a legacy of empowered African women in film and television.” Through experience sharing and mutual support, it offers a special chance to uplift and inspire the future generation of storytellers.
Not only do we want to influence the present, but we also want to build a future in which the voice of every woman is respected, heard, and appreciated. “This event aligns perfectly with our mission to empower African creatives and provide them a platform to have their voices heard on a global scale,” says Africa Creative Market Convener Dr. Inya Lawal.
