Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji as a hardworking leader and a builder of modern Ekiti, saying he clearly deserves a second term based on his track record.
Fayose, speaking on behalf of other former governors during the final stretch of Oyebanji’s campaign tour of local government areas in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, said all former governors are united in supporting his re-election. He noted that Oyebanji’s “impressive and engaging performance” should be sustained until 2030 for the benefit of the people.
Addressing a large crowd of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Fayose expressed confidence that Governor Oyebanji will win the June 20 election comfortably. He added that, in his view, the governor’s performance has been strong enough that he faces no serious challenger in the race.

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji, describing him as a diligent leader and a key driver of modern development in Ekiti State, saying he deserves a second term in office.
Fayose made the remarks on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti during the concluding phase of Governor Oyebanji’s campaign tour across the state’s local government areas. Speaking on behalf of other former governors, he said there is a shared position among past leaders of the state in support of Oyebanji’s re-election, adding that his performance has been strong enough to justify continuity in office through 2030 for the benefit of citizens.
Addressing a large gathering of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Fayose expressed confidence that Oyebanji would secure an easy victory in the June 20 election, stressing that his achievements in office have clearly distinguished him from his opponents.
He also praised the governor’s inclusive approach to leadership, noting that since assuming office, he has worked in a way that has not excluded any group or stakeholder in the state.
“I commend our governor—the performer, the builder, and the man of the moment who has brought unity among us. As one of the leaders of this state who deeply care about its progress, I can say he has not left anyone behind, and we fully support him,” Fayose said.
Although he clarified that he is not a member of the APC, Fayose maintained that good governance goes beyond party affiliation, insisting that Oyebanji, popularly known as BAO, should be allowed to continue in office until 2030.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti, stakeholders highlighted the progress recorded in the state since 1999, noting that residents can clearly see the impact of completed projects across key sectors.
They pointed to major infrastructure delivered by the administration, including the airport, several road networks, the ring road, flyovers, and hospital facilities, describing them as visible achievements that speak for themselves.
The governor said the campaign had covered 15 local government areas so far, adding that the reception from residents had been both encouraging and humbling. He urged party members to intensify efforts ahead of the election, stressing the need to mobilise support in order to achieve a strong result in appreciation of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
He also called on APC members to expand their reach beyond the party base by engaging teachers, commercial motorcyclists, traders, and other eligible voters who are not yet members of the party. According to him, unity and peaceful engagement have defined the current political atmosphere in Ekiti, with no reports of violence and respect for citizens’ rights.
He announced that door-to-door mobilisation would begin the following day, stating that campaign efforts would continue without pause until June 19, with the goal of converting as many voters as possible ahead of the election.
The APC Chairman in the state, Hon. Sola Elesin, also expressed confidence in Ado Ekiti’s electoral strength, noting that the local government has about 187,000 registered voters across 13 wards. He said the party was capable of securing up to 180,000 votes if properly mobilised.
Other party leaders and stakeholders commended the administration for transforming Ado Ekiti through projects such as the flyover, Revenue House, ring road, international cargo airport, and several road and human capital development initiatives, pledging their full support for the governor’s re-election bid on June 20.
