In the early hours of today, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service responded swiftly to a number of emergency incidents across the state, showcasing strong coordination and rapid response capabilities.
At about 4:19 a.m., the Service received a distress call reporting a fire outbreak at an abandoned warehouse belonging to Nuel Ojel Holdings Ltd. Firefighters from the Ikeja Fire Station were immediately dispatched, arriving at the scene within five minutes. They were later joined by a support team from the Bolade Fire Station.
On arrival, responders found the premises completely locked, forcing them to break through the perimeter fence to gain access and tackle the fire. The blaze was successfully brought under control, with no casualties recorded. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are currently underway.

In a separate development, the Service responded to another fire outbreak at about 6:01 a.m. at the NEPA Induction Station in Adelabu, Masha–Surulere. Firefighters from the Sari Iganmu Fire Station were quickly deployed to the scene, where the fire was traced to a snapped yellow phase lightning arrestor. The situation was brought under control without any injuries, although the exact cause of the incident is still under investigation.
Shortly after, at 7:08 a.m., the Service also handled a deep well rescue operation. The Ikorodu Fire Station was mobilized to a site opposite the Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area, along Oja Bus Stop in Owutu. The rescue was successfully carried out, with support from officers of the Nigeria Police, Owutu Division.
