On July 28, 2025, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria announced the Top 30 finalists for this year’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Nigeria (TOYP) Awards—an annual initiative that celebrates young Nigerians (ages 18 to 40) who are making meaningful impacts in their fields and communities.

This year’s 30 nominees were carefully selected by KPMG Nigeria, the official audit partner for the 2025 program, from a shortlist of 50 candidates originally evaluated by an independent panel between March and April. Those 50 were drawn from an impressive 638 entries submitted across the country during the nomination window earlier this year.
According to Yetunde Oyeyipo, Chair of the 2025 TOYP Committee, public voting will play a key role in deciding the final 10 honorees—accounting for 40% of the final score, while judges will contribute the remaining 60%. Voting opens on Monday, July 28 at 6:30 PM (WAT) and will run until August 6 at 11:59 PM.
The final 10 outstanding individuals will be honored at a special recognition ceremony on Saturday, August 16, at EKO Hotel & Suites in Lagos, coinciding with the celebration of the United Nations International Youth Day.
Speaking at the nominee announcement, JCI Nigeria President Oluwatoyin Atanda praised the finalists as bold innovators and changemakers:
“These young leaders are not just inspiring change—they’re taking action, pushing boundaries, and shaping a better future. We’re confident that many of them will go on to gain international recognition through the global JCI TOYP awards later this year.”
Since the program began, several Nigerians have received global accolades through JCI, including renowned figures like journalist Ray Ekpu and health-tech entrepreneur Temie Giwa-Tubosun. Their stories reflect the incredible talent and resilience coming out of Nigeria’s youth.
This year’s 30 nominees span 10 diverse categories, including Academic Achievement, Entrepreneurship, Humanitarian Leadership, Medical Innovation, and Scientific Development. Each category will produce one final honoree.
Some of the 2025 Top 30 Nominees include: Aramide Kayode, Motunrayo Sanyaolu, Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti, Phoebe Dami-Asolo, Tosin Olaseinde, Aisha Abdullahi Adamu, Emmanuel Oyeleke, Bukola Bolarinwa, Fisayo Fosudo, and many more—each recognized for their unique contributions to Nigeria’s progress and potential.
