More than 1 billion naira in cash has been sanctioned by His Excellency Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the former governor of Zamfara State and current Minister of State for Defence, to help 2.5 residents of Zamfara State continue their holy month of Ramadan without incident.

“The Honourable Minister ordered that the palliative should cover both the opposition party members and APC supporters, adding that Zamfara State remained his main priority in respective political party affiliations,” according to a spokesman for the former governor Malam Lawal Umar PhD.
Recall that the former governor gave more than two million Zamfara State residents more than one billion naira as palliative aid to support their individual small-scale enterprises during his visit to the state in December 2024.
Since stepping down as Zamfara State’s executive governor two years ago, Matawalle has been actively promoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s message of “renew hope” and retaining party supporters in the state.
