The South East Development Commission’s (SEDC) first Managing Director and CEO has been charged by Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo. Mr Mark Okoye should concentrate on important projects, especially the regional railway that links the five states in the South East. This is because it will support the necessary development of the Southeast, which makes it economically significant.

The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) said goodbye to Mr. Mark Okoye on his return to office as the SEDC honcho at its fourth meeting, which was held in the Council Chamber on February 24, 2025, according to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor. Earlier, when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Mr. Okoye, the governor of Anambra State congratulated him on becoming the first CEO of the SEDC.
Soludo also praised President Tinubu for the appointment and conveyed his belief that Okoye’s position as MD of SEDC would be extremely beneficial to the Southeast. “Given his extensive experience in investment banking and his commitment to public service as the MD/CEO of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) and his prior position as the state’s Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning,” Governor Soludo said of Okoye.
The nomination, according to the governor, demonstrates the Federal Government’s dedication to supporting regional development. As a result, he conveyed his best wishes to the Chairman and the confirmed members of the Commission’s governing board.
