The launching of a network of five roads in the Ikeja Government Reservation Area on Thursday marks the beginning of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s plans to turn over more projects to Lagos residents.

Six important roads (4.7 km) spanning three Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Akoka, Bariga, and Gbagada are also scheduled for commissioning. The projects will be officially launched on Thursday, January 9, 2025, and Friday, January 10, 2025.
The commissioning serves as more evidence of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to maintaining the construction of long-lasting, contemporary infrastructure that would facilitate easy and convenient mobility throughout Lagos.
St. Finbarr’s Road, Asani Street, Tijani Ashogbon Street, Jagunmolu Street, Shogbamu Street, and Diya Street are among the 4.7-kilometer arterial roads that will be put into service on Thursday, January 9. They will run from the University of Lagos Main Gate in Akoka to the Deeper Life Church in Gbagada.
On Friday, January 10, five strategic road networks—Oba Dosumu Street, Oduduwa Way, Oduduwa Crescent, Sobo Arobiodu, and Sasegbon Streets—that span 6.134 km and include an enhanced drainage system that would prevent the area’s recurring floods will be put into service in Ikeja GRA.
To prevent vandalism on these roadways, residents are asked to maintain their vigilance and work with the Lagos State Government.
