The 2024 Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards’ best overall winner in the Photo Story Category is Obinja Media Communications, the publisher of The Legend News. Since its founding more than five years ago, Legend News has grown stronger every day. The award ceremony, which honoured top media professionals and celebrated journalistic excellence in Nigeria, was held in Lagos on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

Olawale Amoo, the photo editor of the Business Day newspaper, placed second in the photo story category, Gbenga Shaba, the publisher of Omonaijablog, was named first runner up, and Shakirat Salami, the managing editor of The Legend News, won the award for best photo story overall. The Legend News, the Most Influential News Carrier and an online newspaper, had a night of success.
The award ceremony was held at 157 Gardens and Events, 157 Ikorodu Road, Onipanu, Lagos, on December 19, 2024. Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards, now in their fourth year, honour and reward media practitioners that adeptly draw attention to important issues pertaining to socioeconomic development, environmental sustainability, and nutrition security.
Among the judges are Rosemary Otalor, Account Director, APO Group, who has vast experience in communications and media relations, and Dr. Chioma Emma-Nwachukwu, Programs Lead, Lagos Chapter, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, who is well-known for her work in nutrition and public health. Others include Oreva Atanya, Director of the LBS Sustainability Centre at Pan-Atlantic University, who is renowned for her contributions to corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and Dr. Sunday John, Senior Lecturer, School of Media and Communications, Pan-Atlantic University, who specialises in media studies and journalism.
Victoria Uwadoka, an award-winning leader in corporate communications and public affairs and the company’s corporate communications, public affairs, and sustainability lead, is also a member of the 2024 Nestlé Nigeria team.
