A Day of Tributes, titled “Lekki in the Eyes of the People,” has been announced by United Action for Change (UAC), a well-known civic advocacy organization, in memory of the late AbdurRahman Lekki, one of its cherished members and a leading advocate for social justice and change.

His priceless contributions to UAC, public service, and other deserving causes that have a significant influence on humanity will be honored at the tribute event. The celebration, which is anticipated to draw family, friends, coworkers, and mentees, is set for Sunday, November 17, 2024, at precisely 3 p.m. at the group’s meeting location, 12B, Ladoke Akintola Street, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
AbdurRahman Lekki was a well-respected leader and advocate who was committed to furthering UAC’s mission of community development and good government. Many others in the UAC community were inspired by his efforts, and his legacy of activism, moral character, and public service is still relevant today.
Comrade Michael Popoola Ajayi, UAC, the group’s secretary, said in a statement released on Tuesday that “this tribute day is a celebration of a life dedicated to advocacy, nation building, and the relentless pursuit of positive change in our society.” Abdur Rahman’s dedication and determination will always serve as a beacon of hope for UAC and many others who were profoundly impacted.
Friends, coworkers, and fellow activists will offer their thoughts, testimonies, and messages of remembering on the Day of Tributes, giving everyone who was impacted by his life a chance to show their gratitude and reminisce about his significant contributions. UAC hopes that this event will pay tribute to his legacy and encourage upcoming activists to carry on the important job he supported.
The club also decided to honor the late, well-known public administrator by dedicating its final quarter of the year Roundtable to his extraordinary legacy and memory.
The group’s convener, Dr. Muiz Adeyemi Banire, SAN, OON, stated, “We have decided to dedicate the final quarter of the year roundtable discussion in honor of AbdurRahman Lekki going forward.”
