As part of its corporate strategy and vision to improve three key aspects of education in Nigeria—improving access, improving quality, and optimizing learning outcomes through cross-industry partnerships—the bank is supporting this year’s anniversary edition, which has as its theme “A decade of inspiring excellence in teaching.”
Union Bank, an advocate committed to securing the bright educational future of Nigerian youth, hopes to accomplish its goals by utilizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, particularly SDG 4—Quality Education—in order to succeed in this admirable endeavor. Due to its commitment, the Bank created Edu360, a special platform for educational support.
With the goal of strengthening teacher capacity and fostering parent-teacher collaboration on curriculum and child development, the Edu360 program aims to facilitate much-needed investments in the education sector. Nigerian Breweries states that the Maltina Teacher of the Year Award, now in its tenth year of existence since its introduction in 2015, is an endeavor to honor and commend outstanding educators whose work has influenced and enhanced the academic development of Nigerian pupils.
Olufunmilola Aluko, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer of Union Bank, discussed the bank’s support for the Teacher of the Year Award Ceremony, which is in its tenth year. “Union Bank is delighted to partner with a laudable initiative like the Maltina Teacher of the Year that seeks to spotlight and acknowledge incredible educators who have positively shaped the minds of Nigerian students,” Aluko said.
This partnership is in line with the bank’s overarching goal of raising the nation’s educational standards and guaranteeing that all children, male or female, have equal access to education in order to gain transformative knowledge that will benefit not only their immediate families but also society at large. Union Bank is unwavering in its dedication to advancing education, seeing it as a value-adding venture within its portfolio of business interventions as well as a Sustainable Development Goal.
They sincerely think that investing in Nigeria’s future is worthwhile and acknowledge the critical role that high-quality education plays in the advancement of the country.
