This statement was made at the extremely influential Global Tech Africa (GTA) Conference, which was recently hosted at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, by Dr. Babajide Oyeduntan, Vice President, Business Development and Sales, Interswitch e’Clat. Every year, the GTA conference brings together important players in the continent of Africa’s technology ecosystem to discuss ways to leverage technology for the region’s development and prosperity.

In the course of an engaging roundtable conversation with the theme “Building Robust Health Data Systems in Africa,” Dr. Oyeduntan highlighted the noteworthy advancements made by Interswitch e’Clat in terms of transforming the integration and accessibility of healthcare data. He reiterated that Interswitch e’Clat has had a major influence on simplifying data integration across many health laboratories across the country and guaranteeing easy access to health data. He continued, “Our vision is to create an improved healthcare ecosystem where healthcare providers are provided with comprehensive access to patient information, ensuring quality of healthcare.”

Dr. Oyeduntan discussed the recent collaborations between Interswitch e’Clat and the governments of Ogun and Lagos State, emphasising the latter’s joint efforts. As to his statement, the objective of the strategic alliances is to revolutionise the healthcare industries in these states and establish a standard for superior regional healthcare. Establishing electronic medical records, creating reliable health information systems, and enabling real-time data access and analysis are the main goals of the collaborations.

One of the most important steps in Interswitch’s objective to improve healthcare delivery, the vice president pointed out, is collaborating with state governments. According to him, the programs in the states of Ogun and Lagos are designed to update the healthcare system, cut down on inefficiencies, and eventually enhance patient outcomes.

He expressed optimism that Interswitch e’Clat would create a repeatable model through the partnerships, which other governments and regions may then adopt. Interswitch e’Clat’s smart health information platform is made to tackle serious problems that characterise our healthcare system, like disjointed medical records, ineffective patient management systems, and a dearth of coordinated care.

This project by Interswitch e’Clat demonstrates the company’s dedication to public healthcare in addition to being a significant step forward in technology. Considering the aforementioned, Interswitch e’Clat is transforming the Nigerian healthcare industry and establishing new benchmarks for health IT.
