For the sake of the nation as a whole, Nigerian youths have been urged by Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, the senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, to postpone their planned demonstration and instead engage in ongoing discourse.

Senator Abiru asked for everyone’s understanding in a statement released by his media assistant, Enitan Olukotun, in Abuja on Friday.
He also stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is aware of the unique socioeconomic difficulties the country faces, which in fact existed before his administration. He continued by saying that the nation’s political elite, including the President, is working feverishly to correct the macroeconomic imbalances that are the root cause of the current crisis.
Senator Abiru said that the government is willing to interact with the public on other issues in addition to the plethora of socioeconomic intervention programs that are aimed at the most disadvantaged Nigerians, particularly youths. As a result, he urged young people in Nigeria to follow the road of peace and call off the planned protest, which security services information indicated could be manipulated by state adversaries.
The administration has demonstrated a willingness to negotiate with them, thus Senator Abiru advised the demonstration organisers to approach them with their demands.
