President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, in the early hours of Monday to participate in the much-anticipated Africa Forward Summit.
The President’s aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:18 a.m. local time.
On arrival, President Tinubu was welcomed by Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, alongside top Kenyan officials and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Kenya.
The summit, jointly hosted by William Ruto and Emmanuel Macron, is expected to bring together African leaders, policymakers, investors, development partners, and business executives to discuss the continent’s future.
President Tinubu’s participation highlights Nigeria’s continued commitment to promoting African unity, strengthening regional economic ties, and building strategic partnerships aimed at driving sustainable growth across the continent.
The Africa Forward Summit will focus on key issues including economic transformation, trade and investment, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate resilience, and shared prosperity for African nations.
During the event, President Tinubu is expected to hold a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings aimed at deepening Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic relations with other African countries, while reinforcing the nation’s leadership role on the continent.
The President’s attendance also reflects his administration’s commitment to advancing African-led solutions to regional challenges and pushing forward the Renewed Hope Agenda through international collaboration and engagement.
Accompanying the President on the trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.
Also on the delegation are Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change, Omotenioye Majekodunmi, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
