Olufemi Onireti, a former House of Representatives candidate, has officially stepped down from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.
He made his decision known in a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Osupa Ward 9 in Ogbomoso North Local Government on Thursday. According to Onireti, the move came after a period of deep personal reflection, describing it as a tough but necessary choice.
“I hereby formally resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately,” he stated.
Reflecting on his time in the party, Onireti noted that the PDP provided him with a valuable platform for political engagement, growth, and service, including his bid for a seat in the House of Representatives during the last general election.
He also expressed appreciation to party leaders and members for their support over the years, saying he remains thankful for the relationships and experiences he gained.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and for all I learned during my time in the party. I wish the party continued success in the future,” he added.
