President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Saturday praised Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for the remarkable transformation taking place across the state, particularly in the aviation sector with the development of the Gateway International Airport in Iperu-Ilishan.

Abiodun revealed that his government has constructed or rehabilitated over 1,600 kilometres of roads, including key routes such as the Epe-Ijebu Ode Expressway and Sango-Abeokuta Expressway, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing mobility.
He also highlighted achievements in housing, including the Muhammadu Buhari Estate and over 7,000 affordable homes, which have created jobs and improved living conditions.
In healthcare, the governor pointed to the completion of 140 primary healthcare centres and a 200-bed Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence, designed to reduce medical tourism abroad and position Ogun as a healthcare destination.
He added that investments in power, agriculture, and security—including the deployment of vehicles for law enforcement and the promotion of mechanised farming—are strengthening the state’s economy and ensuring food security.
According to him, the introduction of electric mobility solutions reflects a forward-looking approach to sustainability while helping residents cope with rising fuel costs.
