The Ekiti State 2026 Governorship Election Campaign Council has announced Senator Cyril Fasuyi, who represents Ekiti North Senatorial District, as the Director-General of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election campaign ahead of the June 20 polls.
The announcement came during the Council’s inaugural meeting in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, where several key decisions were made to strengthen the campaign structure.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the Council Chairman and Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, revealed that new positions for the various campaign directorates were also created as part of the organizational plan.
Senator Bamidele confirmed that the Council members unanimously endorsed Senator Fasuyi for the role of Campaign Director-General. Fasuyi had previously held the same position during Oyebanji’s successful 2022 governorship campaign.
Expressing confidence in the appointment, Senator Bamidele said the Council believes Fasuyi is well-positioned to deliver even stronger results than in 2022. He also noted that Senator Yemi Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South in the National Assembly, will serve as Deputy Director-General for the campaign.

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele said: “We have just concluded the inaugural meeting of the Campaign Council, and several important decisions were made, particularly regarding the structure of the campaign directorates. Today, we finalized six major appointments, which we are announcing through you.
“We appointed Senator Cyril Fasuyi as Director-General to oversee the day-to-day running of the campaign. He also led the campaign four years ago, and it was the unanimous view of Council members that he did an excellent job and can be trusted with this role again.
“Senator Yemi Adaramodu from the Southern Senatorial District was appointed Deputy Director-General. As you know, I represent the Central Senatorial District, while Senator Cyril is from the North.”
The meeting was attended by Governor and APC candidate Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, along with many members of the Campaign Council.
