Wema Bank has officially announced the Top 10 nominees for the SARA Gives to Empower Her Award, the second edition of its women-focused She Empowers Her Award, aimed at recognising women making meaningful impact in empowering others.

The initiative, launched in 2024 under SARA by Wema, celebrates outstanding women who have demonstrated commitment to supporting and uplifting other women both personally and professionally.
The shortlisted nominees include social entrepreneur Bosede Nwachi, NGO founder Chigozie Blessing, customer success leader Ekwutosi Cynthia, coach and public speaker Franca Ozini, TEDx speaker Hassanat Abubakar, mentor Ikepo Osawaye, marketing professional Jennifer Edem Ekong, world safety ambassador Ambassador Mabel Abel-Onaiwu, founder of Patrick Stephen Purple Heart Foundation for Widows Oluwaseun Joan Stephen, and virtual assistant coach Victoria Ezechukwu-Obiya.
Aligned with the 2026 International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” this year’s edition is themed “When She Gains, We Grow,” highlighting the importance of investing time, resources, and opportunities in women to drive collective progress.
According to the bank, the selection process combined public nominations, internal jury assessment, and voting, all reviewed by an independent audit body. A total of 2,332 nominations representing 351 women were received before narrowing the list to the final Top 10 based on measurable impact and dedication to empowering women.
The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on March 4, 2026, during Wema Bank’s International Women’s Day event in Lagos, where five winners will emerge.
Public voting is currently ongoing, with viewers also able to watch the event live via Wema Bank’s official YouTube channel from 10 a.m. on the event day.
