The Ogun State Government has unveiled plans to construct a 900-seat, Artificial Intelligence–enabled digital learning complex at Remo Secondary School in Sagamu, as part of efforts to deepen technology-driven education in the state.

Governor Dapo Abiodun made the announcement during activities marking the school’s 80th anniversary. He said the project reflects a conscious investment in modern facilities that will equip students with the skills needed to compete in a fast-changing, knowledge-based global economy.
According to the governor, the proposed complex will build on existing smart-learning structures already in place at the school, including a resource centre and a modern robotics laboratory aimed at promoting innovation, critical thinking and digital literacy among students.
Reaffirming his administration’s support, Abiodun pledged ₦100 million toward the institution’s development, adding that half of the amount would be released immediately to begin work. He assured stakeholders that at least one of the proposed projects would be completed before the end of his tenure.
The governor also revealed that the state has upgraded the school’s science laboratories with contemporary equipment and teaching aids to make practical sessions safer and more effective.
Beyond academics, he noted that renovation of the male and female hostels has been completed, a step aimed at improving living conditions, boosting security and enhancing the welfare of boarding students.
Describing Remo Secondary School as a proud symbol of history and tradition, Abiodun said the anniversary was not just about celebrating longevity but recognising the institution’s impact in producing generations of leaders and professionals.
He commended the old students’ association for its consistent support, saying their involvement shows the power of partnership between government, alumni and the community in sustaining educational excellence.
The governor added that the ongoing improvements demonstrate a firm belief that education remains the bedrock of future development.
Abiodun further disclosed that the school has earned recognition as one of Ogun State’s model institutions. He encouraged students to stay dedicated to their studies, maintain strong values and continue to uphold the culture of excellence the school is known for.
