Alhaji Mohammed Ajia Ibrahim, PhD, has officially announced that he has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying his decision is guided by conscience, patriotism, and a sense of national responsibility rather than political ambition.

In a statement he personally signed on Monday, Ajia explained that he made the move after months of reflection, consultations, and a close look at Nigeria’s political and security situation.
He said growing up in a humble home, where his parents worked hard to provide for the family, inspired his lifelong desire to serve others and improve the lives of everyday Nigerians.
“From a young age, I resolved to do whatever I can to make life better for as many people as possible,” he said, noting that this belief has shaped both his business and political journey.
Ajia stated that after assessing different political platforms, he believes the APC currently provides the most practical path for him to contribute to Nigeria’s stability, especially as the country battles insurgency, banditry, and other crimes.
He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing General Christopher Musa to key defence roles, describing it as a strong sign that the government is serious about confronting insecurity. According to Ajia, the appointment increased his confidence in the administration’s commitment.
Speaking from his experience, Ajia argued that Nigeria’s security problems require more than theory. He said years of neglect and hardship have pushed many young people toward violence, and the solution must include both firm leadership and real engagement at the community level.
“I strongly believe that without understanding and compassion for the younger generation, Nigeria cannot win the fight against insecurity,” he added.
Ajia also made it clear that joining the APC is not about seeking an elective position or government appointment. He revealed that since leaving the Nigeria Police Force in 2017, he has continued to serve the country privately without holding public office.
He pledged to support efforts to restore peace using his knowledge, professional background, and grassroots connections, expressing hope that Nigeria can overcome its challenges through cooperation between national leaders and local communities.
