Interswitch offered a glimpse into the future of digital payments during three-day

Interswitch, one of Africa’s foremost integrated payments and digital commerce companies, has wrapped up its first-ever Innovation Product Demo Day—a three-day showcase held from Wednesday, January 28 to Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Interswitch Innovation Lab Co-Working Space in Lagos.
The milestone event brought together product managers, software engineers, and developers from across the Interswitch ecosystem, alongside student innovators from selected tertiary institutions. Together, they presented ideas, experiments, and early-stage solutions that point to the company’s next phase of growth. Conceived as both a celebration of creativity and a platform for collaboration, the Product Demo Day reaffirmed Interswitch’s commitment to building scalable digital solutions and infrastructure that support Africa’s fast-evolving digital economy.
Beyond a typical exhibition, the Demo Day offered a real-time look into how innovation happens at Interswitch—through structured experimentation, rapid iteration, and strong cross-functional teamwork. Over three days, teams showcased working prototypes, new product features, and emerging concepts, sparking open conversations around idea exchange, integration opportunities, and customer-focused problem solving.
Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Adaobi Igwe-Okerekeocha, Chief Innovation Officer at Interswitch, said: “The Interswitch Product Demo Day is more than a showcase. It’s a space where our teams can test ideas, learn from one another, and see the real-world impact of their work. It strengthens collaboration, builds technical capability, and inspires both our people and the wider tech community to keep shaping the future of technology.”
The event also welcomed student innovators from Landmark University and Redeemer’s University, who presented solutions developed through the Interswitch Discovery Series—an initiative focused on nurturing future-ready technical talent and strengthening Africa’s innovation pipeline. Their presentations highlighted products built using skills and insights gained from the programme, reflecting Interswitch’s long-term commitment to talent development and ecosystem sustainability.
Each session encouraged lively discussion, with participants offering feedback, asking probing questions, and sharing insights on how ideas could be improved, strengthened, and scaled. This interactive atmosphere reinforced Interswitch’s view of innovation as an ongoing learning journey—one rooted in execution, accountability, and measurable impact.
The successful hosting of the Interswitch Product Demo Day 2026 further underscores the company’s focus on innovation as a key driver of growth and industry leadership. By fostering collaboration across teams and related product areas, Interswitch continues to break down silos and unlock greater value from its collective expertise.
Looking ahead, the company is preparing to introduce a strong pipeline of new products designed to redefine digital experiences, raise industry standards, and reinforce its role in shaping the future of technology at scale.
As digital payments and infrastructure continue to expand across Africa, Interswitch remains committed to empowering its teams to think boldly, build responsibly, and deliver resilient solutions that transform how businesses, communities, and consumers engage with technology.
