Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to development that goes beyond visibility to deliver real, everyday benefits for citizens, as he commissioned five major projects in Tsafe Local Government Area on Friday.

The projects, unveiled across strategic locations in the area, are designed to improve living standards, strengthen public institutions and stimulate local economic activity.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the commissioned facilities include a newly reconstructed modern motor park, a renovated market, a rehabilitated educational institution, an upgraded and fully equipped general hospital, and a refurbished Emir’s Palace. The governor noted that each project addresses a critical aspect of community life, spanning healthcare, education, commerce, mobility and traditional leadership.
Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Lawal said the projects reflect his administration’s determination to rebuild infrastructure and ensure that governance delivers tangible impact at the grassroots.
The reconstructed Emir’s Palace, he explained, symbolizes continuity, cultural heritage and leadership within the community. He emphasized the importance of traditional institutions as partners in grassroots governance, peacebuilding and social cohesion.
“Our respect for tradition is reflected in this project,” the governor said. “Traditional rulers remain vital to maintaining harmony, resolving disputes and preserving shared values. We will continue to work closely with them as trusted partners in rebuilding Zamfara State.”
On education and human capital development, Governor Lawal highlighted the importance of the College of Health Technology in Tsafe, describing it as a key institution for training frontline health workers who serve communities across the state. He said the renovation of the college was aimed at improving learning conditions and strengthening the skills and confidence of future healthcare professionals.
Closely linked to this is the comprehensive rehabilitation and re-equipping of the Tsafe General Hospital, a critical secondary healthcare facility serving thousands of residents. The governor said the upgrades were intended to improve service delivery, enhance patient care and provide better working conditions for medical personnel.
“Quality healthcare remains a top priority for this administration,” he said. “We are committed to strengthening health facilities across Zamfara so that citizens can access reliable and dignified medical care.”
Governor Lawal also spoke on the economic significance of the upgraded market and motor park, describing them as lifelines of the local economy. He noted that the facilities support traders, farmers, transport operators, artisans and small business owners, while also improving order, safety and efficiency.
“The market and motor park are centres of daily economic activity,” he said. “By improving these spaces, we are supporting livelihoods, boosting local revenue and creating safer, more organised environments for commerce and movement.”
The governor concluded by calling on traditional leaders, community members, traders, transport unions, health workers and local authorities to take collective responsibility for maintaining the facilities.
“Public infrastructure lasts when everyone feels a sense of ownership,” he said. “Proper use and care of these projects will ensure they continue to serve the people of Tsafe for many years.”
