At a media engagement held at its Victoria Island headquarters in Lagos, the company brought together journalists and industry stakeholders to demonstrate how renewable energy is already delivering practical and cost-effective results across multiple sectors in Nigeria — not just as a future goal, but as a present-day solution.
JMG, which has decades of experience delivering comfort, safety, and efficiency solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial environments, operates across several key areas including conventional and renewable power, electrical systems, HVAC, elevators and escalators, compressed air systems, and energy-efficient technologies. The company’s operations are supported by internationally recognized ISO certifications covering quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Speaking at the event, JMG’s Chief Commercial Officer, Rabih Jammal, said the global clean energy day serves as a timely reminder that Nigeria must move faster in adopting renewable power solutions.
“Clean energy is no longer something for the future — it is already here and delivering results,” Jammal said. “At JMG, we are not just talking about renewable energy; we are actively deploying it. From our 150-kilowatt solar installation at our Victoria Island office to several large-scale projects across the country, we have demonstrated that solar solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and financially beneficial.”
He noted that the company’s solar and hybrid installations have helped customers cut diesel expenses significantly, improve power reliability, and lower their carbon footprint. According to him, as more countries shift toward sustainability, renewable energy is becoming an economic necessity for Nigeria, helping businesses reduce operating costs and stay competitive.
JMG’s Head of Marketing, Oluwatomi Faniran, described clean energy as a central part of the company’s mission and long-term business strategy.
“At JMG, clean energy goes beyond technology — it is part of our responsibility to the environment and society,” she said, pointing to successful solar hybrid deployments at NIPCO fuel stations, a government state house facility, and major commercial sites such as Nourdm Global and Rack Centre.
She explained that these projects prove renewable energy can be practical, reliable, and profitable, adding that JMG’s clean energy initiatives have already cut carbon emissions by tens of thousands of kilograms of CO₂ while delivering major fuel savings for clients.
Providing more technical insight, Raymond Nwose, Product Manager for Hybrid Power Systems at JMG Solar, said the company is focused on removing cost and operational barriers that often discourage businesses from switching to renewable power.
“We design solutions around each customer’s energy needs and financial capacity,” he said. “Our systems are built to deliver power consistently, regardless of season.”
He outlined JMG’s flexible financing options, including outright purchase, lease-to-own plans of up to 84 months, and Power-as-a-Service (PaaS) models, which allow businesses to access clean energy without heavy upfront investment — a model especially helpful for small and medium-scale enterprises.
Nwose added that JMG has technical teams positioned across Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Kano, and Port Harcourt to ensure fast deployment and responsive maintenance support nationwide.
On customer care, Anthonia Ogunsanya, JMG’s Customer Support Manager, emphasized that strong after-sales service is a key part of the company’s offering. She said customers have access to round-the-clock support through a 24/7 call service and dedicated technical response teams for both emergency and routine needs.
As Nigeria continues its transition toward more sustainable energy sources, JMG says it plans to expand its solar and hybrid energy footprint further through innovation, partnerships, and ongoing investment in people and technology.
The International Day of Clean Energy is observed every January 26 following its establishment by the United Nations General Assembly in 2023 to promote a fair and accelerated global shift to renewable energy.
