President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, said Adeniyi emerged as one of 44 award recipients after a thorough nationwide evaluation of public service performance.

Akume praised Adeniyi’s leadership style, highlighting his discipline, transparency and professionalism. He described the Customs boss as a model of the calibre of public service leadership Nigeria needs at this pivotal time.

He further noted that under Adeniyi’s watch, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has consistently surpassed revenue targets, strengthened border management, and restored public trust in the institution—making his selection not only deserving but inspiring.

According to the SGF, NEAPS was created to promote a strong culture of recognition within public institutions, reminding awardees that every public office is “a trust held on behalf of the Nigerian people.”

Speaking with journalists after receiving the award, CGC Adeniyi expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Tinubu, the SGF and the organisers for recognising the NCS’ achievements.

He described the honour as both personally motivating and a tribute to the hard work of men and officers of the Nigeria Customs Service.

Adeniyi dedicated the award to the entire NCS workforce, noting that it would further inspire the Service as it intensifies efforts to boost revenue, reinforce border security and enhance trade facilitation.

“This recognition pushes us to do even more,” he said. “It strengthens our resolve to deliver credible revenue administration and uphold the values of integrity and excellence that our country deserves.”

CGC Adeniyi was among the most celebrated awardees at the event, which drew a distinguished audience including the Governors of Adamawa, Bauchi, Kano and Zamfara States, the Director-General of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), and several other top government officials.

The ceremony marked the second edition of NEAPS, organised by The Best Strategic (TBS) Media in partnership with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), to honour individuals and institutions delivering outstanding service to the nation.
