The Institute of Security, Nigeria (ISN), hosted its 18th Annual International Security Conference and Investiture/Induction Ceremony on November 28, 2025, at the Faculty of Social Sciences Auditorium, University of Lagos. The event, themed “Expanding Frontiers of Innovations in Security Enhancement and Nation Building in Nigeria,” drew notable dignitaries, security professionals, academics, diplomats, and traditional rulers from across the country.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni was officially inducted as a Fellow of the Institute. Ambassador Oladunni, known for her strong contributions to diplomacy, intergovernmental relations, and global cooperation, currently serves as Aide to the Chairman of Sabré West & Central Africa (Foreign Relations & Protocol) as well as Special Adviser on Foreign Relations and Head of Protocol for the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce (PAACC).
The keynote address was delivered by Ambassador Tukur Yusuf Buratai, CFR—retired Lieutenant General and former Chief of Army Staff—who underscored the importance of innovation, collaboration, and global best practices in strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture. Other distinguished Nigerians were also honoured, including Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR; Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume; and His Royal Majesty Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom.
In her remarks, Ambassador Oladunni expressed profound gratitude for the recognition. “I’ve received several awards, but this honour from the University of Lagos and the Institute of Security Nigeria is truly special. I am the youngest in this category, and to me, this is not just a ceremonial title—it comes with real responsibility,” she said. She added that the fellowship will further strengthen her expertise in international security and conflict resolution.
The conference highlighted the importance of collaboration between academic institutions, security agencies, traditional leaders, and international partners in tackling Nigeria’s evolving security issues. For Ambassador Oladunni, this fellowship marks yet another major milestone in her ongoing commitment to diplomacy, development, and nation-building.
