The Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS) has renovated the Oke-Odo Maternity Centre in the Agbado-Oke Odo Local Council Development Area as part of activities marking its 12th anniversary celebration.

In a statement signed by the Association’s Publicity Secretary, Sir Olusina Thorpe, the President of ALARHOSPS, Otunba Nurudeen Ojora-Adejiyan, said the renovation was carried out in recognition of the vital role the maternity centre plays in providing essential healthcare to residents of Oke-Odo and neighboring communities.
According to him, the facelift will significantly boost the facility’s ability to deliver quality medical services, particularly for expectant mothers and newborns.
As part of the project, the Association donated several medical items to support the maternity’s operations. These include blood pressure monitors, maternity beds, baby cots, and mattresses for the labour wards. The team also repainted the building’s exterior walls and perimeter fence, giving the centre a fresh and welcoming look.
Otunba Ojora-Adejiyan further disclosed that activities to commemorate the 12th anniversary will run from Tuesday, October 14 to Sunday, October 19, 2025. The weeklong celebration will feature visits and donations to the Boys Correctional Centre in Oregun, a Walk for Fitness and Health Talk, Christian and Muslim Thanksgiving Services, and the Association’s Quarterly General Meeting, where its constitution will also be reviewed.
Continuing its tradition of community support, ALARHOSPS annually identifies and addresses key needs in the education and health sectors. Over the past three years, the Association has renovated the Assembly Hall of Epe Grammar School and St. Thomas Anglican Primary School, Badagry — Nigeria’s first primary school.
To mark its 11th anniversary last year, the group refurbished 18 toilet facilities at Ebute-Elefun Senior Secondary School on Lagos Island.
Earlier in 2025, ALARHOSPS also hosted its annual summit, where discussions centered on good governance, accountability, and selfless public service, with members contributing ideas for both state and national development.
