The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) under its Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) initiative, aimed at promoting youth empowerment and building safer communities across the country.

Speaking on the collaboration, Mr. Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, Director-General of NECA, said the partnership demonstrates a shared vision between the business community and law enforcement to tackle the root causes of social vices through preventive, community-based, and non-violent approaches.
As part of this collaboration, NECA will support the International Day of the Girl Child Summit 2025, scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja.
The summit, organised by POCACOV, is themed “Girls’ Vision for the Future” with the Nigerian sub-theme “My Identity, My Power: Creating Safer Spaces for the Nigerian Girl Child.” It is expected to host more than 500 participants, including secondary school girls, parents, educators, law enforcement officers, civil society organisations, and media partners.
Mr. Oyerinde revealed that NECA would contribute to the summit by providing expert facilitators for mentorship sessions, equipping all participants with access to NECA’s AI Fluency Course — a digital skills training programme offered in partnership with Microsoft and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE). This initiative will enable the girls to gain practical digital literacy and certification in emerging technologies.
Additionally, NECA will award two one-session scholarships to outstanding students — one from the junior and one from the senior category — to encourage academic excellence and leadership. The association will also donate 50 school bags to support participating students’ educational needs.
According to Oyerinde, the summit’s key goals include developing girls’ leadership and digital competencies, fostering mentorship through credible female role models, inspiring self-confidence through the theme “My Identity, My Power,” and deepening collaboration between schools, families, communities, and the police.
“At NECA, we believe that empowering young girls with the right skills, mindset, and opportunities is fundamental to nation-building. This partnership with the Nigeria Police reflects our unwavering commitment to promoting gender inclusion, youth development, and safer communities where every girl can dream and thrive,” Oyerinde affirmed.
