The Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS) has given the Oke-Odo Maternity Centre in Agbado-Oke Odo Local Council Development Area a major facelift as part of activities marking its 12th anniversary.

In a statement signed by the Association’s Publicity Secretary, Sir Olusina Thorpe, the President of ALARHOSPS, Otunba Nurudeen Ojora-Adejiyan, said the renovation underscores the group’s commitment to improving public healthcare facilities and supporting community well-being.
According to him, the Oke-Odo Maternity Centre was chosen because of the vital role it plays in providing essential maternal and child health services to residents within the community and its surroundings.
“By renovating this facility, we are helping to strengthen its ability to deliver quality healthcare, particularly for expectant mothers and newborns,” Otunba Ojora-Adejiyan said.
As part of the project, the association donated essential medical equipment — including blood pressure monitors, maternity beds, baby cots, and mattresses — to enhance service delivery in the labour ward. The exterior walls and perimeter fence of the building were also repainted, giving the centre a refreshing new look.
The 12th-anniversary celebration, scheduled for Tuesday, October 14 to Sunday, October 19, 2025, will feature several activities such as a charity visit and donation to the Boys Correctional Centre in Oregun, a Walk for Fitness and Health Talk, Christian and Muslim thanksgiving services, and the Association’s Quarterly General Meeting, during which members will review the Association’s Constitution.
Continuing its tradition of giving back, ALARHOSPS annually identifies and supports institutions in the education and health sectors. Over the past three years, the association has rehabilitated the Assembly Hall of Epe Grammar School, renovated St. Thomas Anglican Primary School, Badagry—Nigeria’s first primary school—and upgraded 18 toilet facilities at Ebute-Elefun Senior Secondary School on Lagos Island.
Earlier this year, the group also hosted its annual summit, which focused on themes of good governance, leadership, and selfless public service, contributing valuable insights to state and national development efforts.
Through these continuous interventions, ALARHOSPS has reinforced its enduring legacy of service, compassion, and commitment to building a better Lagos.
