Nollywood Grieves the Loss of Actress Omotola Odunsi

The Nigerian film industry has once again been hit with sadness following the passing of talented actress Omotola Odunsi.
Her death was confirmed by fellow actor Akinola Akano, popularly known as Segbowe, who shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. In an emotional post, he revealed a recent chat with Omotola where she had assured him she was feeling better.
“Motola! It’s so strange… I checked on you that morning,” he wrote. “You said you were fine and back! This is a rude shock. Journey well, sister. God be with your family.”
Veteran actor Odunlade Adekola, who mentored Omotola in her early career, also expressed his grief online, simply writing: “Jesus Christ. RIP Omotola.”
Omotola made her mark in several notable Yoruba films including Lisabi: The Uprising, Officer Adaeze, Amonata, Ayanmo Ire, and Ifedayo. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of fans, colleagues, and the entire Nollywood community.
