Qatar’s Defense Ministry confirmed its air defense systems intercepted all incoming missiles, and no casualties or damage were reported . In a strongly worded statement on X, a Qatari foreign ministry spokesman denounced the strike as a “flagrant violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty and declared the right to respond “in a manner proportional” to the attack under international law.
A Western diplomat, speaking to Reuters, said Iran had launched six missiles toward U.S. bases in Qatar, also warning of threats to sites in Iraq. U.S. forces at Ain al-Asad Air Base in Iraq reportedly also moved to heightened alert in response.
The strike follows U.S. B‑2 bomber missions and cruise missile assaults on several underground nuclear facilities in Iran over the weekend — operations that included 30,000‑pound bunker-busters.
In Washington, President Donald Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Joint Chiefs of Staff head General Dan Caine convened in the White House Situation Room to monitor the rapidly evolving conflict.
