Minister Matawalle emphasised in his speech a number of significant accomplishments of President Tinubu’s government, especially in the fields of defence and security. He mentioned that in 2024, more than 10,000 firearms had been recovered, 11,600 criminals had been arrested, and more than 8,000 terrorists and bandits had been successfully neutralised.
In the battle against abduction, the creation of the Multi-Agency Anti-Kidnap Fusion Cell (MAAKFC) has greatly improved strategic coordination.
