He will also be given the honorary title of “Aare Atunluse Omoluabi Oodua Agbaye” at the 26th Anniversary of the Yoruba Council Worldwide (YCW) and the 7th Annual Omoluabi Festival. The main auditorium of the June 12 Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State, is set to host the great cultural event, known as “ISOKAN OMOLUABI 2025,” on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
With the theme “Review of the 1999 Constitution: A Focus on Regionalism,” the event is expected to be a celebration of Yoruba identity and a mashup of ideas and traditions. The highest authority for all Yoruba indigenous people worldwide is the Yoruba Council Worldwide (YCW), also called Igbimo Apapo Yoruba Lagbaye. In recognition of their commitment to preserving the principles of Omoluabi—integrity, honour, courage, and community service—the council recognises those who have excelled in the service of the Yoruba people and beyond.
YCW praised Aare Ogunjimi’s steadfast efforts to promote culture, build the nation, and promote unity throughout Yorubaland and the Nigerian federation as a whole in a formal letter of nomination. Aare Atunluse Omoluabi Oodua Agbaye’s designation as “Global Yoruba Pathfinder and Cultural Reformer” highlights his extraordinary record as a forward-thinking leader and supporter of Yoruba heritage on the international scene.
The finest members of Yoruba royalty and cultural guardians will be present at this year’s festival. Iku Baba Yeye, Alayeluwa Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, Alaafin of Oyo, and His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi CFR, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife, will co-lead the royal gathering of Yoruba traditional leaders and stakeholders in what is referred to as the “Biggest Festival in Yorubaland.”
